If you’ve found that something isn’t working smoothly in your Shopify store after installing the Searchanise Upsell & Marketing, the first step before contacting the Support team is identifying what is actually causing a bug in your store.
To narrow down the cause of a bug and simplify your investigation, we’ve prepared this short guide to help:
- Open the store in Google Chrome.
- Open Chrome Developers Tools. You can do this in several ways:
- Right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect
- From the browser menu, go to More Tools » Developer Tools
- Use a shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + I (for Windows) or Command + Option + I (for Mac)
- Select the Network tab and type [app_name]?shop=[your_store_domain_name].myshopify.com in the Filter box (to the left of this page section). Select from the list of apps below:
- free-shipping-bar?shop=[your_store_domain_name].myshopify.com
- scroll-to-top-button?shop=[your_store_domain_name].myshopify.com
- upsell-cross-sell?shop=[your_store_domain_name].myshopify.com
- announcement-bar?shop=[your_store_domain_name].myshopify.com
- countdown-timer-bar?shop=[your_store_domain_name].myshopify.com
- email-collection-bar?shop=[your_store_domain_name].myshopify.com
- Refresh the page.
- You’ll see a file loading [app_name]?shop=[your_store_domain_name].myshopify.com. Right-click on it and select Block request domain.
- If you refresh the page again, your store will load without the app. This is how you can determine whether an issue in your store is caused by Searchanise Upsell & Marketing.
After you’ve concluded your test, don’t forget to right-click on the same file [app_name]?shop=[your_store_domain_name].myshopify.com (it should now be displayed in red as it’s blocked) and select Unblock [your_store_domain].
If you’ve determined that the root of the issue is in our app, report the bug, and we will examine your request to help you resolve it. You can contact us via email at feedback@searchanise.io.
