Searchanise allows you to enable search by specific product metafields.
In this article, you’ll learn how to enable search by product SEO data, such as the page title and meta description. In Shopify, these values are stored in the following metafields:
-
Page title —
global.title_tag -
Meta description —
global.description_tag
Enable search by Page title
To enable search by the product SEO page title:
- Go to the Searchanise Search & Filter control panel > Search & Navigation > Preferences section >Metafields and Metaobjects tab.
- Click + New.
- Click Enter manually under the Source field.
- Enter global.title_tag.
- Save the changes.
- Click the link at the top or the Force re-indexation button on the left-hand side to start indexation.
Once indexation is complete, customers will be able to search by product page titles.
Enable search by Meta description
To enable search by the product meta description:
- Go to the Searchanise Search & Filter control panel > Search & Navigation > Preferences section >Metafields and Metaobjects tab.
- Click + New.
- Click Enter manually under the Source field.
- Enter global.description_tag.
- Save the changes.
- Click the link at the top or the Force re-indexation button on the left-hand side to start indexation.
After indexation is complete, customers can search by product meta descriptions.
You can enable search not only by SEO data, but also by any product or variant metafields.
Import with Search by metafields enabled is 3-5 times longer than usual due to limitations of the Shopify API.
We’d appreciate it if you could take some time to leave a review.
