Instant Search Widget
There is only sorting “by relevance” in the Instant Search Widget. It is so because the main idea of instant search results is to show items that match the search query the most.
Search Results Widget
The default sorting in the Search Results Widget is “by relevance”, which is the most recommended. But you can change the default sorting. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to the Searchanise Search & Filter control panel > Search & Navigation > Search results widget section > Content tab > Products part.
- Select the value in the Default sorting option.
- Apply the changes.
That’s it. The default sorting is now changed in the Search Results Widget.
If the default sorting differs from “by relevance”, the low relevant items may be shown at the top of the list on the search results page, and the results in the Instant Search Widget and the Search Results Widget will be different.
Filters on collections
You can either use the sorting specified in Shopify settings or opt for our app’s sorting rule (read more about Collections sorting).
The default sorting of products on collections pages with the set Filters on collections feature is “Date: New to Old”. You can change the default sorting of products on collections pages. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to the Searchanise Search & Filter control panel > Filters > Filters on collections > Settings > Collections sorting.
- Select Shopify or Searchanise sorting.
- For Searchanise sorting, you can change the Default sorting option.
- Apply the changes.
That’s it. The default sorting is now changed.
