If you are currently using another product review app, you can migrate to Searchanise Product Reviews while keeping your existing reviews.
The migration process depends on whether your current review app supports Shopify Standard Product Review Metaobjects.
Reviews stored in Shopify standard product review metaobjects
If you know that your current review app supports Shopify standard product review metaobject, contact the app developer and confirm:
- Whether all your existing reviews have been synced to Shopify standard product review metaobjects.
- If not all reviews are available in Shopify Standard Product Review Metaobjects, when did the app start syncing reviews to them
Set up the review and rating widgets and check that the reviews are displayed correctly on your storefront.
Do not uninstall your previous review app until you have confirmed that your existing reviews are available in Searchanise Product Reviews and everything works correctly on your storefront.
Reviews stored outside Shopify standard product review metaobjects
If your existing reviews are not available/fully available through Shopify standard product review metaobjects, migrate them using a CSV file:
- Export your existing reviews to a CSV file from your current review app.
- Import the CSV file: Searchanise Product Reviews > Import > New import.
- Set up the review and rating widgets and check that the reviews are displayed correctly on your storefront.
