Customizing Filters by Tags on Shopify

If you use prefixes in product tages, you can:

  1. Delete certain prefixes from filters by tags.
  2. Exclude tags with certain prefixes from filters by tags.

A tag prefix is the first part of a product tag. For example, if you have the product tags like season_winter, season_summer, season_spring, etc., the “season_” part is the tag prefix.

Delete certain tag prefixes from filters by tags

Steps:

  1. Go to the Searchanise Search & Filter control panel > Filters > Filter List section > Settings tab.
  2. Enter the tag prefixes separated by commas into the Remove prefix from tag values field. The tag prefixes are case-insensitive.

  4. Click the link at the top or the Force re-indexation button on the left-hand side to start indexation.

That’s it. After indexation is complete, the values of the filters by tags will be without the entered tag prefixes.
