1. Installation
See the instructions on how to add the app to your Wix store here.
After the app is installed, you will be redirected to the Wix website editor, where you can set up the Searchanise search bar. In the meanwhile, the indexation starts to import search data. It takes some time.
The Searchanise set up inculdes:
- Search bar design settings in the Wix Editor, while other settings are located in the Searchanise admin panel.
- A separate Search results page created by Searchanise in the Editor.
- Search results widget settings available in the Searchanise admin panel.
How to open the Searchanise admin panel
You can open the Searchanise admin panel in two ways:
- In the Wix dashboard, go to Apps > Manage Apps > Open Dashboard next to Searchanise.
- In the Wix Editor, select the Search bar, click Settings, then click Go to the app at the bottom of the settings panel.
1.1 Setting up the Searchanise search bar
In the Wix Editor, you can find the Searchanise search bar and move it to the desired location. You can configure the following search bar settings in the Editor:
- View — display the search as a button or an input field.
- Icon — choose the magnifying glass design for the button or input field.
- Icon size, position, color, and opacity.
- Placeholder text.
- Text style — font, size, and color.
- Border color, width, and radius.
2. Checking if the app is working
Once the indexation is complete, you can check how the app works in your store. See the instructions on how to do so here.
3. Adjusting the Instant Search Widget
3.1. Adjusting the content
3.2. Adjusting dropdown design
You can select either a single-column or multi-column widget’s template in the Searchanise control panel > Search & Navigation > Instant search widget section > Style tab.
Single Column template
Multi-Column template
You can also change colors for the widget’s template to suit your store look and feel more. See the instructions on how to do so here.
4. Adjusting the Search Results Widget (search results page)
4.1. Adjusting the content
As well as in the Instant Search Widget, you can modify what data to show or hide in the Search Results Widget. See the instructions on how to do so here.
4.2. Adjusting the design
You can change the widget’s default colors to suit your store style guide. See the instructions on how to do so here.
5. Adjusting the search relevance
You can adjust your search results and make them even more relevant.
It is possible to adjust showing out-of-stock products at the end of the search results or enable SKU substring search. The SKU substring search allows you to get products in the search results, SKU of which are partially matching the search term entered into the search bar. You can do so in the Preferences section of the Searchanise control panel.
What is more, you can hide some product details from the search or change their search weight. See the instructions on how to do so here.
6. Managing Filters
The Filters are created automatically based on product details. You can hide part of them, change the sorting, or rename them. See the instructions on how to do so here.
7. Going further
The Instant Search Widget and Search Results Widget supply the main functionality of our app. But you can also try to adjust merchandising rules to promote products in search results.
If you face any troubles, don’t hesitate to contact us. We will be glad to help you.
We’d appreciate it if you could take some time to leave a review.
